Police: 3 arrested after officers find duffle bag of stolen mail



AUSTIN (KXAN) — Three people were taken into custody after police accused them of stealing mail from 37 different addresses and credit cards, the Kyle Police Department said. 

On Wednesday, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with an expired registration. The driver initially provided police with a fake name. Officers then identified her as Torie Salitrero, 33, of San Antonio, who had active fraud warrants out of New Braunfels, said Kyle Police.

According to KPD, officers found “eight credit cards with various names, a crowbar, and a duffle bag with mail from 37 different addresses in the vehicle.” Salitrero and two passengers, who police identified as Francisco Espinoza, 33, and Emmilio Camacho, 35, both of San Antonio, were arrested. 

The trio was charged with engaging in organized criminal activity and theft of mail. Police said Salitrero faces additional charges for possession of a controlled substance, fraudulent possession and use of a credit card, failure to identify as a fugitive, in addition to the outstanding warrant.
