How to get free Chipotle during the 2026 Super Bowl


Chipotle will give away up to $1 million in free entrées during the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 8, as part of an in‑game activation tied to the growing wave of AI-generated commercials. 

Instead of buying a traditional TV spot, the company is releasing a single 30‑second Instagram Reels video at some point after halftime and before the third quarter, giving fans a chance to claim one of 100,000 free entrée codes.

The Reel, titled “The Chipotle Realest 30,” will be published on the brand’s official Instagram account.

Viewers who text the code shown in the video to 888222 will receive a free entrée, with the offer limited to the first 100,000 participants. Codes are valid through February 12 for U.S. residents aged 13 and older, and standard text and data rates apply.

Why Chipotle Is Giving Away Free Food

Chipotle positioned the food giveaway as a direct reaction to AI-generated commercials, noting that the Instagram Reel will be published at a point after halftime and before the third quarter, when an AI-generated commercial airs.

Stephanie Perdue, Chipotle’s interim chief marketing officer, said: “When AI shows up in a TV ad after halftime, we’re seizing that one moment to reward fans with what they really want: real food.” 

Perdue explained that the activation is meant to highlight the company’s emphasis on ingredients made without artificial colors, flavors or preservatives.

Alongside the giveaway, Chipotle is launching three “Game Day Nacho Hacks,” marking the first time the chain has added nacho-style bundles to its digital menu. Available exclusively through the Chipotle app and website from February 5 to 8, the packages pair large portions of chips, queso, guacamole and salsa, with optional Adobo Chicken or steak. Each pack is intended to serve three to four people and can be ready for pickup in as little as 10 minutes. Chipotle said the new options were inspired by years of customer-created nacho “hacks.”

What Americans Eat on Super Bowl Sunday 

While the football is important, so are the snacks for many fans. The National Retail Federation (NRF) predicts that Super Bowl LX will be watched by a record 213.1 million adults in the U.S. The NRF predicts that a record $18.6 billion will be spent on food, drinks, apparel, decorations and other purchases—or $91.58 per person.

Each year, the National Chicken Council projects the amount of chicken wings Americans will consume during the Super Bowl, and this year, NCC expects a 1.5 percent increase in wing consumption over last year.

Deals like Chipotle’s are popular during a Super Bowl weekend. 

Consumer Edge data from 2024 shows major chains running Super Bowl promotions drive same-day sales growth. Last year winners included Little Caesar’s, Wingstop and Round Table Pizza, all of which saw 5 percent sales growth tied to Super Bowl Sunday deals.

Following the championship weekend, Chipotle has announced it will also bring back its Chicken al Pastor on February 10 for a limited run. Members of the company’s loyalty program will be able to order the item a day early, on February 9, through the app and website.
