‘Love Story’ Trailer Reveals The Story Of John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bissette’s Tragic Romance

FX has unveiled the trailer for Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette ahead of its Feb. 12 premiere.

The first installment in Ryan Murphy’s Love Story anthology, FX’s Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette, is a limited series inspired by Elizabeth Beller’s book “Once Upon a Time: The Captivating Life of Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy.”

The historical drama follows the lives and love story of the couple starring newcomer Paul Anthony Kelly as JFK Jr. Paul Anthony Kelly and Sarah Pidgeon as Carolyn Bessette. Kennedy Jr. was the closest thing to American royalty. The country watched him grow from a boy to a beloved bachelor and media sensation. Bessette was a star in her own right. Fiercely independent and with a singular style, she rose from being a sales assistant to an executive at Calvin Klein and became a trusted confidante of its eponymous founder.

In the trailer we see the challenges that the couple faced including the pressure from the non-stop media attention and relentless paparazzi, especially for Bessette. “There’s your world. And then there’s mine,” Carolyn says to JFK Jr. “It’s not a question of if I want to spend the rest of my life with you. It’s a question of if I’m cut out to be Mrs. JFK Jr.”

In addition to Kelly and Pidgeon, the cast includes Grace Gummer (Caroline Kennedy), Naomi Watts (Jackie Kennedy Onassis), Alessandro Nivola (Calvin Klein), Leila George (Kelly Klein), Sydney Lemmon (Lauren Bessette) and Constance Zimmer (Ann Marie Messina).

Created by Connor Hines, Love Story is executive produced by Ryan Murphy, Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson, Connor Hines, Eric Kovtun, Nissa Diederich, Scott Robertson, Monica Levinson, Kim Rosenstock, D.V. DeVincentis and Tanase Popa. Max Winkler executive produced and directed the pilot episode. It is produced by 20th Television.

The limited series premieres Feb. 12 at 9 pm ET on FX and Hulu.
