Austin's first tilt roller coaster nears finish line
AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin will soon have its first major roller coaster as construction is near the finish line at COTALAND Theme Park.
Leadership with the theme park, project engineers and crew all gathered at Circuit of the Americas Wednesday morning to commemorate how far the construction has come for “Circuit Breaker — Austin’s first tilt roller coaster.”
The installation of the “last bolt” was celebrated through a ceremony to recognize the milestone for engineering, as it signifies the “completion of major structural work,” according to a news release from COTA.
Now that the “last bolt” is secure, crews can now start the testing phases and commissioning for the roller coaster.
