Rob Reiner’s Kids Jake Reiner, Romy Reiner Make Rare Appearance to Honor Dad With Dodgers First Pitch

Rob Reiner’s kids stepped up to the plate in a meaningful way.

More than seven months after the famed director and wife Michele Singer Reiner were killed, their kids Jake Reiner and Romy Reiner threw out the first pitch at the Aug. 2 Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Boston Red Sox game.

To get the ball rolling, Jake, 35, and Romy, 28, donned jerseys for their late father’s favorite baseball team as they stepped up to the pitcher’s mound. The duo also posed for photos with the players ahead of the game—which saw the Red Sox beat the Dodgers 8 to 4.

Jake and Romy’s rare appearance comes as their brother Nick Reiner remains in custody, awaiting trial for the murder of his parents. The 32-year-old has pleaded not guilty to two charges of first-degree murder.

Since the tragedy in December, both Jake and Romy have maintained a low profile, though Jake has shared insight into the confusing and all-consuming grief they have been facing.
