Prada Returns to No. 1 in the Lyst Index, Ahead of Chanel

Prada has returned to No. 1 in the Lyst Index, displacing Chanel. Lyst’s Q3 2026 edition places Prada first, up five places from sixth in the previous quarter. Chanel, which led the Q2 2026 edition, drops one place to second.

Lyst says demand for Prada on its platform rose 55 percent over the quarter. The top five in the Q3 edition is Prada, Chanel, Miu, Gucci and Saint Laurent.

How the Lyst Index Scores Brands

The Lyst Index is a quarterly ranking of fashion brands and products that tracks brand heat over a three-month period. Lyst combines demand data from its own platform, which it says has 160 million annual shoppers, with signals from social media, search, editorial coverage and AI discovery channels.

Each brand is evaluated across three dimensions: Desire, Demand and Discovery. Lyst says its model prioritizes aspiration-led demand, gives more weight to recent activity, and leaves out activity driven purely by discounting or negative attention.

For the hottest products, Lyst filters more than eight million items by social media mentions, searches, page views, interactions and sales on Lyst. Colors are grouped by style, and global demand is weighed against the volume of stock available.

Q3 2026 at a glance
Prada rose five places to No. 1 in the Lyst Index for Q3 2026, and demand for the brand on Lyst rose 55 percent over the quarter, according to Lyst.

What Moved Prada Ahead of Chanel

Lyst links Prada’s climb to fashion week. Desire and discoverability spiked during fashion week, with the skirts featured in September’s Milan show becoming a fixture of discourse across social feeds. Lyst also says Prada’s aesthetic is distinct enough to be recognized, discussed and reinterpreted at scale, and that the bigger draw is the idea of Prada itself, an aesthetic and a sensibility, whether or not people buy the product.

The Prada Wish Pouch, a soft silk duchesse design, was the quarter’s hottest product. Lyst gives searches for it as up 498 percent, while FashionUnited describes its demand as up nearly 500 percent.

FashionUnited reports that this is Prada’s first time at No. 1 since the fourth quarter of 2023. Since then, it says, the top spot went to Miu, Loewe, Saint Laurent and Chanel. Prada’s ranking history reads fifth in Q4 2025, seventh in Q1 2026 and sixth in Q2 2026.

In Lyst’s Q2 2026 ranking, Prada was sixth, up one place, with Chanel first and Miu second. Lyst said the Coco Beach and Métiers d’Art 2026 collections helped sustain Chanel’s discovery, and that searches for Chanel sunglasses rose 70 percent quarter on quarter. In Q3, Chanel moves to second, Miu drops to third, Gucci rises to fourth and Saint Laurent is fifth.

Celine, Dries Van Noten and Khaite Among the Movers

Celine climbs five places into the top 10 for the first time, to 10th. Lyst ties the climb to its Celine x Reebok Freestyle Lo, and to the L’Été collection and recent runway shows, according to FashionUnited. Lyst says the Freestyle Lo sold out as soon as it landed. Lyst says demand for Celine menswear rose 62 percent year on year. Under creative director Michael Rider, the sneaker ranked third among the quarter’s hottest products, FashionUnited reports.

Dries Van Noten enters at 16th as a new brand, with demand up 27 percent on the quarter. Its Long Wrap Scarf-Skirt was the fifth hottest product, with demand up 383 percent, according to Lyst.

Diesel returns at 18th, its first appearance since the first quarter of 2024. FashionUnited ties the return to Glenn Martens’ final show for the brand, for spring/summer 2027. Khaite debuts at 20th, with shoppers searching for its Danielle jeans and its eyewear collaboration with Oliver Peoples.

Dior falls three places to sixth, and Bottega Veneta rises three to 11th.

Prada’s aesthetic is distinct enough to be recognized, discussed and reinterpreted at scale.
